Needing to use both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator is a pain because the bookmarks are not interchangeable. Also, large numbers of Internet Explorer shortcuts consume huge amounts of disk space.
So I've knocked up this little utility which converts Explorer shortcuts to Navigator bookmarks, and sorts the bookmarks as well (or as the only function). Explorer can use a Netscape Navigator bookmark file because it looks like a page of ordinary hot links.
The ZIP file contains the program and a description of
how you use it.
Warning: it is a 32 bit program for Windows 95 or
Windows NT 3.51 on.
The software is free. Conditions of use (or rather
re-distribution) are in the text description.
Hold down the Shift key as you click to Download mssc2htm.zip (about
64K).
The download should take about 1 minute with a 14.4K
modem.
Use PKUNZIP to unpack the file into \NETSCAPE, and then use NOTEPAD to read and/or print MSSC2HTM.ASC.
Hope you find it useful ...
